This is one of my favourite dishes. I cook two different types of matar paneer. One is with paneer, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, green peppers or capsicums, onions, green peas and paneer. And the other one is with paneer, tomatoes, onions and green peas.

Paneer is fresh cheese which is made of milk. Paneer is a good source of protein. Nutritional value per 183 grams of paneer is 43 kcal, 10 grams carbohydrates, 10 grams sugars, 2 grams fat, 7 grams protein and calcium.
Nutritional value of green peas in per 1 cup (145 grams) is 118 calories, iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B6, vitamin A, 8 grams protein, 7 grams fiber and vitamin C. Nutritional value of one medium whole tomato which is 123 grams is 22 calories, 292 mg potassium, 4.8 grams total carbohydrate, 1.5 grams dietary fiber, 3.2 grams sugar, 1.1 grams protein, vitamin A, vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium, iron and vitamin c.
Nutritional value of one medium size onion which is 110 grams is calories 44, 161 mg potassium, 10 grams carbohydrate, 1.9 grams dietary fiber, 1.2 grams protein, vitamin C, vitamin B6 calcium, iron, magnesium and 4.7 grams sugar.
Paneer is used mostly in Indian cuisine. We make a lot of different types of food with paneer such as paneer tikka masala, paneer butter masala, matar paneer, palak paneer, paneer pakora, sahi paneer, paneer veg roll, chilli paneer, kadai paneer and paneer momo.
I often make matar paneer as I love to eat paneer a lot. I have learnt one of the matar paneer recipes from my mother and the other from my friend. My mother uses green peas, potatoes, capsicum and carrots in her recipe and my friend uses green peas, tomatoes and onions. Both the recipes are very good. Today I will share my friend’s recipe with you. My friend’s recipe does not take so long to prepare and it also tastes very good. So I often make his recipe at home. My friend used to brag about his recipe all the time. I remember when the first time he shared his recipe with me I was not very pleased to hear as I was thinking that it won’t taste good. So one day I decided to try his recipe and I requested him to cook it for me. And when he made matar paneer and asked me to taste I was blown away as it was beyond my expectation. Since then I have been following his recipe. He has so much love for cooking and he always makes tasty food. He wanted to open his own restaurant also. My mother’s recipe is also very tasty but it is time consuming as she uses a lot of vegetables in her dish. You can try my mother’s recipe if you can afford to give that much time to your paneer. This is an amazing dish for all the vegetarians as it serves good amount of protein. I request you all to try this recipe at least once. I am sure you will like it.
